What the diet ads don’t tell you about being a size 6!!!

Size 6!  Size 4 in the US!

That look that says you are beautiful!  The look that says you look wonderful!  The look that shouts healthy?

The ads that tells us that we too can be beautiful, look wonderful and be healthy – but only if we diet.

The ads that tells our teenage girls that  to be wanted, to be special, to be loved, to look good they need to be skinny.

And to be skinny, they need to diet!

And I am just a little bit tired of the ads that bombard my life with the almost immediate effects that can happen if you follow their diet plan.  The diet plan used by the rich, the famous, the beautiful….. because to be like them we need to be like them!

But being Size 6 doesn’t make you happy, it doesn’t make you rich, famous or beautiful.

For 3 years I battled with a weight problem.  3 long years of fluctuating from Size 4 to Size 8.  3 long years of weighing under 7 stone.

And what the diet ads don’t tell you is that when you are Size 6 it hurts to sit down!

What the diet ads don’t tell you is that when you are Size 6 you are not healthy!

The diet ads don’t tell you about the tiredness, the breathing problems and what it is like to be continuously cold!

Diet ads don’t tell you that people will comment on your weight and not the ‘wow you look great’ but will ask ‘are you ill?’

The diet ads don’t tell you that your skin will become thin and wrinkles will more defined.

The ads don’t tell you because they don’t want you to know!

It is not being Size 6 that makes you special or beautiful.  Being Size 6 will not make you happy or healthy.  Won’t make you rich or famous.

So be you!

Learn to love who you really are.

Learn to see the beauty of the person inside.

And the rest will follow…..
